Learn how affiliate marketing works and make money working for your self at home.

Most online companies implement the affiliate marketing strategy in order to grow faster and reach more people within short period of time. Affiliates are the people who work with producers or companies by attracting prospects and clients for them. The company in return reward these affiliates for their hard work by paying them some commissions.

Affiliate marketing is one of the best lucrative online business anyone can venture in. It can pay in six figures per-annum if mastered perfectly well. To give an example, some hosting companies pay as much as $60-$150 to affiliates on any successful lead or client they brought. So if the affiliate can bring 10 clients per month that will be $600-$1500 monthly income.

There are many affiliate networks online which any one can join and start promoting their products. Some of these networks are:

  • Linkshare
  • ShareASale
  • eBay Partner Network
  • CJ Affiliate
  • Avangate
  • Amazon Associates
  • Clickbank
  • JvZoo
  • MarketHealth

There are also many online companies that manage their own affiliates so you might want to work with them directly. Most of the affiliate networks refer affiliates as Publishers while the product owner’s as Advertisers or Merchants. You will see many guides online teaching affiliate marketing, some make it look complex than it looks. The end goal is to make commissions and get qualified clients for the product you are promoting, any thing else is inconsequential.

After signing up with a network you will be able to retrieve your affiliate links, which you can share or promote to get commission. Each network has its own approval and eligibility measures so make sure you follow the guidelines. Next challenge will be promoting the affiliate link, it becomes more of action than theory at this point. Getting targeted traffic to your links can be a nightmare, especially when you don’t have funds to invest in an advert. Don’t worry it is among the experience every affiliate marketer face when getting started.

The best way to promote an affiliate product is through blogging, content marketing works well and still the best. Content marketing involves finding a problem and writing a solution about it. The solution will be the product you are promoting. Make sure the content is of high quality and more than 450 words. Search engines will reward you with organic traffic which comes from searches related to your content. You can also promote the content page using offline ads, Facebook ads, email marketing, e.t.c.

Another way of promoting affiliate products is by list building, this is a method whereby niche targeted email addresses are collected using a web page known as an optin page or squeeze page . These collected email addresses are followed up with sequential series of emails which pre-sales the affiliate product you are promoting. To get started with list building you have to complete these steps below:

  • Sign up with an autoresponder service (mailchimp is free)
  • Create a squeeze page (can be learnt through youtube or contact me)
  • Have something to give away for free in exchange for emails/optins
  • Use facebook ads or any way you can to promote the squeeze page
  • Start collecting emails
  • Then send out your affiliate links

Most affiliate networks will pay you using paypal, wire transfer, mail check, payoneer and so on. Getting paid is no more a problem rather getting sales and commissions is. It needs hard work, smartness and perseverance to make it with affiliate marketing but it is one of the best online business you can venture in.
